Description

MicroGel technology is the combination of a low density material, called Head MicroGel, with stiff and strong carbon composite fibers to create a racquet with incredible responsive qualities. This will cause the racquet to, upon impact with the ball; uniformly distribute the shock from the impact all around the racquet easing up the pressure on the elbow while also creating an even and superb feel. Also included with this design is a wider than normal head shape that will allow the ball more space to move along the string bed thus creating more spin.

Don`t be fooled by the usage of the word `Oversize` in connection with this racquet, there is a great amount of control that can be found here. This racquet is a great choice for advanced players but is also a good option for a wider range of players, especially younger juniors. We recommend these racquet for players rated NTRP 4.0 and above.

This racquet comes prestrung with Head Sonic Pro White 16g at 57lbs. It does not come with a cover.

Note: This racquet does not come with a cover.

Excellent Racquet For Me
5/5
Was using a 25 year old Dunlop, so I decided to move into the 21st century and take advantage of the new technologies. Did a customer review of racquets I was interested in and narrowed my list down. Then I went to a local sporting goods store to get a hands on feel. Chose the Head MG, ordered from Tennis Express along with a restring job. Received the racquet in 2 days, $20 less than store, excellent service. This racquet is great. No vibration down the handle into the arm. Very good control and placement of shots. Grip is tacky in 96 degree heat and sweat. All shots are solid. Quick on net play in doubles. Cant blame the racquet on bad shots anymore.

best feel greatest control
5/5
I played tennis at the As, Open level before I quit altogether. Coming back after more than twenty years I found the OS head radical microgel to have the best feel and greatest control on ground strokes and volleys. I added 3 grams of lead tape on the top for more power on serve. I strung the OS with 17 gauge poli and the 18 main strings has kept me from going through a lot of strings.

I started out at the LiquidMetal Radical, which WAS my favorite racquet. Now, my favorite racquet is the Microgel Radical. I felt that the Flexpoint and LiquidMetal Radicals were not that similar and that the Microgel truly succeeded the Radical throne.

This racquet is the nicest racquet I have ever hit with. I am a 3.5 player and have previously used Prince and most recently the Head liquid metal. This racquet is beautifully balanced and is great for vollying so conseqentially it is a good selection if you play a lot of doubles. I am so happy that I think I will have to buy another one in case this one has string trouble during a tournament. Once again this is a great product.

This racquet has a great solid feel when stricking ball with very little vibration. Like the look of the racket, does not look oversize but you realize it is as you play some difficult returns. Good for power and control.

This racquet is very good. The swing speed is great, but all I have to say is that a shock absorber is your best friend with this racquet! Without it you can feel every time you hit a ball but with one you cannot feel anything. I love this racquet and I am learning how to control even more with it as well. I would have to say it was a good choice.

Best Arm Friendly Racquet !
5/5
I recently started playing again after a 25 year layoff. After a year, I started to develop elbow and shoulder problems. The Prince models I was playing were great, but they were light racquets that were head heavy. I played around with string choices and that helped, but the problems persisted. I decided to take a few weeks off and do some research on arm friendly racquets. The Micro Gel Radical kept showing up as a popular choice. Slightly heavy overall, but head light. Ive played several matches and my arm / shoulder feel great. My only complaint is the stock strings - will probably change out to Gamma Professional. Oh - forgot to mention this racquet is a steal at $89 - buy one before theyre gone !

An excellent frame
4/5
This Head frame is light without being too light, and it is a nice compromise between control and power. You can flatten out shots and hit with pace or play it safe with topspin. It is predictable and responsive. The dense string pattern allows the player to tailor the power level as he/she sees fit. The single extrusion design has been a staple since the 80s. Whats not to like A great frame! I will just keep buying this model no matter how they paint it.

Cant go wrong with this one
5/5
This is a control oriented frame but more power is easily accessed by dropping the string tension. Shock dampening is excellent while feel for the ball is maintained. Head has made this frame for many years while providing an evolutionary series of improvements. The relatively thin frame reduces miss hits on those heavy topspin ground strokes and spin serves. This frame raised my level of play. Buy extra bumper guards. The provided strings last forever.
