Description

The revolution began with a new material never before used in modern racquet design: Liquidmetal. Head revolutionized the game of tennis once again. Liquidmetal technology changed the game in every respect with pure energy and perfect power.

Liquidmetal material is applied to four strategic areas of the Radical`s head and it is the only material that utilizes all the energy your swing generates. No energy is lost on ball impact due to its liquid atomic structure.

The Liquidmetal Radical has a strung weight of a little over 11 oz. and a 18x20 string pattern, making it one of the lighter advanced racquets on the market. For those looking for precise control without the heft, take a look at this frame.

The Liquidmetal Radical comes pre-strung with Head Synthetic Gut 16g at 57lbs.

Liquidmetal Radical MP

This has got to be the cheapest racquet Ive seen other than Academy or Walmart racquets. Its not a bad thing! Its actually awesome! The racquet is quite outdated technology-wise, but its great for the price. Not too light, not too heavy. Good power, great control, and decent amount of spin. Perfect for beginner/intermediate players. Ive seen ranked players also use this racquet. If your budget is low, this is a racquet you should consider.

Outstanding Budget Racquet!
4/5
Ive been using Prince and Wilson racquets my whole life, and started reading reviews on the Head Liquidmetal Radical MP. Since this is an older model and demos arent available, I demoed the YouTek Radical and immediately noticed the significant upgrade in control and feel. I actually played a lot better with this racquet. So then I just went ahead and purchased the Liquidmetal Radical, and I am still just as happy with the control and feel. This racquet truly responds to what you do and you can generate an incredible amount of power on flat serves. I feel like I can swing away on groundstrokes and not worry about it going out. You cant go wrong with this racquet, especially since its under $80!

Just right for me...
5/5
This racket is just right for my baseline hitting style. It has plenty of power, but I can hit out without hitting over the fence. The sweet spot feels large for a racket this size, making it very forgiving. Hitting off center is almost as solid as nailing the sweet spot. The racket feels light -- light enough that I can make adjustments mid-swing without strain on my arm. I prefer groundies, and this racket is great for me off both sides -- plenty of power to keep my one-handed back-hand from being a weakness, and enough control to allow all-out swings on my forehand without sending the ball into the court next door. I love it, and hope to hit with it for years.

Head Liquidmetal Radical

For the money, this is a very nice racquet. The 18x20 string pattern allows for more control. Also, the design generates a fair amount of topspin. The racquet is sturdy and feels a little heavier than it actually is, due to the weight distribution. Im a relatively new player. I found the racquet to be unforgiving and the sweet spot is less generous than with other racquets. However, the racquet forces the player to play the game correctly and strike the ball accurately. Overall, I am very pleased with the racquet.

Very solid. I recommend it to all players in the intermediate level and/or higher level if your budget on racquets is low. A few players I know use this racquet also. Noticeable plow through the ball, very soild and sound at the net making it very easy to put away balls. Even if youre not at that intermediate level of perfecting your groundstrokes, this racquet is still great to start off and you wont be needing to change racquets anytime soon.

Great racket
4/5
I have demod a few more rackets recently but keep coming back to the Head Liquidmetal Radical MP because of the great control and depth of shots with relatively easy swing. The balance is superb slightly head light so it gives a feeling of being very light and easy to swing. The 18x20 string pattern gives a great feel for the ball and is good on top spin even though 16x19 might be better I like the compromise.

Great Racquet!

I am returning to the game after many years off. I was looking for something that had a balance of forgiveness and control. The liquidmetal radical MP seems to be that racquet for me. It provides great feedback on the poor shots so that I know what did wrong, and good contact feels like butter. Tennis express didnt break the budget and allowed me to get a quality racquet.

Head Liquidmetal Radical MP review

A GREAT racquet! Just terrific for a player like me. Head was my dads choice back when he was young and I guess it stuck with me. The YOUTek line has nothing compared to this old school bad boy. All the tennis sites say this is for the 4.0+ players but for me, a 3.0 player, this is a stick of the gods! You dont have to be 4.0+, you just need a strong arm that has been swinging tennis racquets for a while. Before I bought this stick, I had played with a 9oz stick which was way too light, and got another racquet that was between 11-12oz and stuck with that for 2 years. After buying the Liquidmetal Radical MP, I think I should stick with it forever! I shouldve bought 2! Crisp volleying, but they need precision. Slices take a 4.0+ player. Groundstrokes must be quick and long, like a 4.0+ player. Still learning to serve with this stick since I am a weak server, but this racquet is my best friend; its helped me win some pretty great rallies. 11.2oz has never felt so light with this racquet.
