Description

Comprised of over 2000 individual fibers that are twisted and bonded together, Genesis Xplosion 1.25 offers greater spin and even more feel and comfort compared to the 1.30 version. Promising gut-like performance at a significantly reduced cost, the string utilizes a special series of heating and cooling stages to achieve a very arm friendly string providing maximum elasticity for comfort and power. Xplosion undergoes a chemical treatment step to improve tension maintenance for longer lasting performance. A polyurethane elastomer resin is used to bind the fibers as well as a coating to make the string easy to string and enhance durability by lessening string friction. This string is an ideal fit for players seeking the ultimate in arm comfort and playability.

Construction: Polyamide multifilament
Color: Natural
Gauge: 1.25mm

Kinda stiff

This string has good pop, and you can rip the ball. But its fairly stiff and not very comfortable. It has fair spin production. Enough to keep the ball in play, but not so much that topspin fanatics would like. The string doesnt move much overall.

I bought this string because I always read raves of Genesis strings and because it sounded like it could be a cheaper version of NRG2. Strung this myself on my Dunlop Biomemetic 300. First time out was glorious. Great power, spin and control on my serve. I thought I had finally found a way to save $5 a pack. Second time out, good but some of the luster was lost when I began to exchange with a steady hitter. Third time, ahem, the wheels fell off. Power was down, strings were moving like crazy, touch was still there, but that only goes so far if control and powere are gone. I am not a professional stringer, in fact I can suck at times, but I have to lay some of the blame on the string. If has qualities of an NRG2, but it fades much quicker. If you can afford the time to re-string every couple outings, you might find it worth it.
