Description

In the world of spin friendly co-poly strings, each manufacturer is attempting to create the string that will provide the absolute greatest spin. Just based on the look of Genesis Twisted Razor 1.27, it is difficult to see how it could be topped for pure spin potential. Sharing a molecular formulation very similar to Typhoon, this string takes it to a new extreme by reducing the number of sides. As a three sided string, the edges have been cut sharply, allowing even greater grip for enhanced spin. Twisted Razor also uses the same axially twist during construction to result in greater texture, which helps to increase the tension maintenance of the string by aligning the polymer chains universally. A silicone coating is applied in order to allow the strings to freely move back into place and further enhnace spin. Our testers found that this string provided excellent performance from the baseline, combining spin and power. Best suited to strong baseline players that dictate play with hard, heavy groundstrokes.

Construction: Extruded co-polyester monofilament
Gauge: 1.27mm
Color: Black

SPIN Monster

This string is amazing for spin. Wow!! Plays stiffer than some of the other Genesis strings but this string provides some outstanding spin and control.

Very nice co-poly spin oriented string, good tension maintenace with a softer feel in comparison to Typhoon.

Edges Wore Down Quickly

The spin ability was great to start. After 2, 2 set matches there was little edge left. Still able to spin the ball but no real advantage for this string over synthetic gut performance. It did hold tension and was playable, but would need to be changed frequently to retain optimal spin.

Genesis Twisted Razor
5/5
I have been looking for a string that produces as much spin as the Tourna big hitters rough that was easier in the arm and that could hold tension well. This string is it, after trying Babolat Hurricane Tour and many other name brand polies this is it. This string is phenomenal it has a soft feel for touch shots and when you rip your swing the ball bite is amazing!!

Twisted Razor Review
4/5
Ive been playing tennis for about 20 years total. I played for two tennis clubs overseas between the ages 7 and 17. Ive been playing with the Luxilon ALU Power Rough for the last 4 years and considering the number of new strings that came out claiming better performance and promising new technological advances, ive been trying out a few. Ive found this string to have a significantly higher spin potential than the ALU Power Rough. Immediately after playing for an hour, ive noticed a lot more fuzz on my string bed than any other string. Ive had a hard time hitting balls out the first couple of times I played with it.

Spin String
4/5
This string is really good for Spin. I have also used Babolat Pro Huricane tour. But I find that this Twisted Razor have a very good ball bite, tension maintenance is good too. I've played 6+ hours of hard hitting and spin, the tension haven't dropped that low yet. Downside is that I find that this string is a bit stiff but I hybrid it with a soft synthetic cross string. If you dont have any problems with your arms, you should definitely try out this string.

I use this with soft multis in the crosses for a number of players I string for. People really like it. Not as edge sharp or grabby as Tourna Big Hitter Black and it is a bit firmer than said string. But it does deliver the goods in terms of tension maintenance Im used to a 15/20% drop in dynamic tension with most polys but this barely drops at all after 5+ hours of hard-assed hitting. 7-8 hours it does drop but hey it is poly and it performs better than most that is for sure. A great cross string for open string patterns is the Genesis Blizzard 16L at 59 lbs, razor mains at 55 or 56. Very comfortable and with a spinny racquet the ball will drop pretty fast with really good pop.

This string performs better than my previous string, RPM Blast from babolat, but it broke after only about 2 weeks of use. I would get 3-4 weeks out of RPM Blast. I am a high level tournament player who plays 4-5 times per week.
