HEAD Youtek IG Radical MP Tennis Racquet

I have used Head Radicals for over 15 years so I was very curious to see how the new Youtek IG Radical performed. Frankly its the best they have produced yet. The light frame has always appealed to me as it provides that split second more time allows you to get the racquet and body into position quicker. Its a control racquet not a power racquet which becomes more important as you get older to play the angles against younger more agile players. Simply another superb racquet produced by Head.

I had been playing with a Head Radical for the last couple of years and decided to upgrade to the Youtek IG Radical. What a difference! This is a great racquest for a club player and feels great. I get plenty of power and spin.

I purchased this racket as my first advanced level racket. Prior to this I was using oversized lighter rackets as I was a beginner just started playing last august and wasnt sure what I should use. After about 7 months of lessons I demoed this racket, the Prince Warrior, the BAbolat Aeropro GT, and the Wilson Steam. This Head by far felt the most solid and gave me the most control so I made my purchase. My game definitly improved and I found myself giving every swing my all as the spin I generated kept me in play. I advanced quickly and am competitive 3.5 level player and can at least give a 4.0 player a workout. However I am now getting some real shoulder pain and I think the weight of this racket could be too much for me. Im gonna try to step down in weight maybe to the Radical S. So hoping it has a similar feel as the MP and is a little easier on my shoulder. We shall see. I recommend this racket for strong and advanced players.

I had always been curious to try a few head racquets. So I ordered 4 demos of different IG racquets and the regular racquets. I didn't like any of them except when I picked up this racquet. EVERYTHING was amazing about it. My volleys, serve, and ground strokes improved immediately. Although it took me a couple of days to get used to it, I think I can finally say I found the racquet for me. I definitely recommend this racquet to any type of player, especially more towards the advanced level. Unbelievable combination of control, feel, and power.

A great all-round racquet for a young tennis players like myself . The control you can get is fantastic; you can put it wherever you want in the court with whatever spin you may choose.As a keen doubles player as well it is great for volleying and touch at and around the net.

Id have to agree with Nathan from IL. This racquet performs well from the net and baseline, return of serves and serve. The specifications of this racquet are not too heavy or too light and its stiffness rating is not too high or low. I think because of this the racquet will perform well for ANYONE. Customization with lead tape for more plow through if you prefer, but pick your choice of string and vary your tension and this racquet is a no brainer.

After testing numerous Wilsons I had used a Wilson Pro Open BLX before this purchase and a YouTek IG Radical Pro, I choose the YouTek IG Radical MP because I felt it was the most comfortable and versatile racquet for my game. I am a 3.5 player trying to get to the 4.0 level and I felt I needed a racquet that could handle the harder-hitting players Im now going against and give me more pinpoint ability for passing shots and baseline returns. This racquet easily handles those types of shots without any wiggle or wobble and thanks to the 18/20 string pattern the control is very good. In other words it packs a lot of punch. Because of its lighter weight for a players racquet I was pleasantly surprised that it matched or even succeeded my Wilson BLX in quickness at the net and short-court control. I did loan it to a friend who likes a heavier racquet and he said he would prefer a little more weight in the head but adding a few pieces of lead tape would solve that. I enjoy the slight

Amazing intermediate - advanced racquet. I had previously owned the Microgel Radical and loved it, but this new version is awesome. Lot of feel, great blend of power and control.

This is a 4.5 player saying this is probably among the best racquets ever made. Part of its allure is that it is the best of so many worlds. It is not too big or small, not to light or heavy, not to stiff or flexy. Set this up with Luxilong BB ALU 125 smooth in the mains at 51 lbs. and Babolat Longevity 15L Natural gut crosses at 54 and you will be loaded for bear. I will add that I wish the color was a deeper orange and not so bright/or another color option. Would like to try it in an extended version, but not available. Another racquet more maneuverable is the Head Mojo Youtek innegra not available. Only real achilles heel of this Radical is not as much serving power as some 100 sq. in. models. Extra length might solve that. All in all an A+
