Not as good as the 803 I had. I play 2X week prety hard on shoes and do not like the short tongue. Feels a little sloppy in the lace area with a short tongue. Not a major problem but certainly worth a downgrade in rating...

This is my second pair. The first pair lasted approx. 1 yr. I play on hard court only. I have been playing for about 40 yrs. I must say these shoes are the best pair I have ever owned. The fit good arch & inners well constructed. The sole performs very well. Sincerely, William

I like this especially because I have to wear ankle braces and the extra width makes for a nice fit.

Its difficult to understand how any company could take a near-ideal product and tweak it negatively, but thats what New Balance has done with the 804. Yes, theres still the herringbone sole design and yes, theres still the all-important rollbar technology thats been in this series for years. Inexplicably, however, New Balance shortened the length of the tongue of the shoe from the ideal size of the 803. This necessitates making sure the tongue is stretched as far as practicable so you can tie the darn shoes. Not an improvement. Ive been a fan of the 800 series for a decade, and the 803 is still by far the best show in the product line, from a looks standpoint, comfort and wear. Thankfully, theres always a chance New Balance can get it right with an 805.

This is a great shoe, long-lasting. It fits well and Im quite pleased with it.

For the last several years, I have worn New Balance in the 802 , the 803 and the 804. Up till now I have had no complaints......comfortable shoe. I just bought some 804s and when I wear them, the tongue on the right shoe , after a short time wearing them, slides down under the laces so that the top row of laces is resting on the front part of my ankle. I have not worn them long enough during each playing session to see if that irritates or causes a blister on my ankle, but it is bothersome. It is only right shoe that does this. Maybe the tongue was cut to short, Thinking of returning them for an exchange.

I have worn New Balance for at least 10 years, and would not consider changing. They are great quality, and always fit great!

This is my first pair of nb tennis shoes. Im a 35 year old 4.5 singles player and have had foot problems, until I purchased these shoes. So comfortable and stable. I highly recommend!

Im enjoying my New Balance 804s. No breaking in needed. Fit great and I appreciate the thicker toe as Im a foot dragger. Ive been wearing them for a month now and there is only a hint of wear. My friend, Joe, got a pair, too, and he really likes em.

Out of the box played 2 hours. The shoe performed very well. I have been playing 40 years. My feet fit perfectly & breathed well in the shoe. I thank the Tennis Express staff for recommending this shoe. The shoe I have been ordering through Tennis Express was the Wilson Pro Staff that is no longer an offering. I have been playing in the Pro Staff approximately 30 years, prior Puma. Buy the shoe; youll like it!

I tried the mc804 to see if an upgrade from my 655s would be worth the extra cost. I was pleasantly surprised that it was. I will continue to wear them.
