YONEX VCORE 98D Tennis Racquet

I bought the racquet for my son who has been playing with a similar one for over a year. It has performed exceptionally well. I would recommend this product.

I began playing with the Wilson wood Jack Kramer racket in 1970 and have used many rackets over the years. This racket is the best Ive played with due to weight and balance. Highly recommend

To begin, all that is to follow is coming from the perspective of a former college player who played one year, and who uses an older generation 95 square inch Yonex racket. I’m in a neutral position after demoing Yonex’s VCore 98D. The racket wasn’t bad, but neither did it leave a great impression. If you prefer a 95 square inch head size then you may appreciate the additional surface area of the 98 like I did. Even though the larger sweet spot was nice, the lightness that usually accompanies larger head sizes was not. The racket I use now is heavier by about 15 grams. It also has a wider beam. The VCore 98D has a thinner beam than my 95 and is lighter. I felt that the VCore 98D was more maneuverable, but that it was not as solid upon impact as my current frame. That perceived lack of stability could be a function of weight, beam width, and simple racket construction.

I am 13 years old and play on my middle schools tennis team. I have only been playing for a little over a year, so I started with a beginners off the shelf racquet. I really loved that racquet and my game progressed as time went on, but my coach felt it was time for a move up to a better racquet. My tennis coach had me to demo 5 different racquets and I really liked the feel of the v-core. I have now been using it for just over a month and have played several tournaments with my new yonex. I am amazed at the increased control I have, the spin, and the way the ball comes off the strings. I am totally satisfied and looking forward to increasing my skill level with this racquet in my hand!!

I love the new racket; I was surprised low light it is but that is a good thing. The lightness does not hinder the power or control of a stroke. Its been a great fit and I hadnt been playing for a long time; my last rackets were the Yonex 180 and 380 series so it had been a while. Its great getting back into tennis and after trying 4 of your demos, I obviously decided to stick with the Yonex and have been very happy with my choice. Thanx.

Switched from a Yonex RDiS 200 to the Vcore 98 in an effort to find a lighter raquet for less shoulder fatigue during long matches. Misson accomplished! The Vcore 98 is a little bit stiffer as noted by the specs, but has not been a problem for me so far. The lighter weight has helped with reaction volleys and with late hits, but it has felt less stable when returning fast / heavy serves. Overall, a solid performer that I am staying with. USTA 4.0 player. Strung with Luxilon Savage Black; 51 lbs.

A great racket, it helps me maintain control in the long rallies and I'm able to drive the ball pretty far back.
