The first time you slip on a pair of adidas Barricade 6 Men's tennis shoes you will experience what top notch quality feels like. Everything a hardcourt player could ever ask for in a superior tennis shoe are here including rough and tough durability, optimal cushion, and incredible support. This particular style of adidas Barricade 6 Men's shoes comes in black and white.

Additional features have been added to this legendary model. The first additional feature worth mentioning is the newly added "claws". adidas Barricade 6 claws increase the ability to stay upright while moving in vigorously in all directions. This claw technology really gives you an advantage in gripping the court. Another new feature are the TPU 3-stripes. They are not the typical signature adidas stripes you see on all this brand's tennis shoes; these stripes are special because they are functional. The TPU 3 Stripes actually enhance top stability in the forefoot. A molded EVA insole provides players with the utmost comfort, but it should be noted that this insole can be removed if you so choose. Both Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Marcos Baghdatis wear the Barricade 6 during match play.

The technologies from older adidas Barricade tennis shoes are all here too including the torsion system, adiprene heel insert, and adiprene+ in the forefoot. The Torsion system is found in the midsole for better surface adaptation and stability. The AdiPRENE insert in heel for comfort and shock absorption, while AdiPRENE+ offeres full-length forefoot cushioning.

Fun fact: All the adidas Barricade 6 tennis shoes were designed by Thomas Weege, the Global Head of Footwear Design at adidas, who had this to say about his creation, "The Barricade 6.0 is the most holistic Barricade I have ever designed. I was inspired by futuristic industrial design and every line and detail follows a clear, minimalist design philosophy."

Great Looking and High Performing Tennis Shoe

After my online purchase, I read the reviews concerning some break-in time needed for this shoe. I contacted Tennis Express TE, and the representative quickly suggested that I order both the 12 and 12.5 sizes to accommodate my wider foot size, and amended my order instantaneously. It turned out to be a great idea. As soon as I tried on the 12.5, I knew there was no need for the 12 and returned it in the box in which both pairs came, after, of course, attaching the return label that TE promised me on the phone. No problems, credit given within three days of sending. Now, I was a little concerned at first, as even the 12.5 fit snugly, but true to the reviews, they need time to break-in. They now fit like a pair of gloves for my feet. Sturdy ankle support, but with ample cushion so as not to interfere with quick pivoting. Best of all, I like the way they look so much, I began wearing them as casual recreational shoes; to spring training games, and even the bar with the guys.

Comfortable: length is true to size, accomodates a slightly wide foot, not tight fitting across the toes or the instep, foot sits well in the shoe. Short break-in period. Excellent lateral support. Excellent Shoes

I have had problem feet ever since I was a child playing sports due to some VERY high arches and have sprained my ankles more times than one can count especially during my early years of basketball junior/senior high. Now all I do is play tennis all of the time. I put an extreme amout of pressure on the balls of my feet and require a shoe that fits VERY snugly. These Barricade series shoes are the one and only shoe that I have been able to find that are snug enough to the foot. Its as if they almost become part of your foot. I highly recommend the Barricade for anyone that requires what might be considered a tight fit. Its the only tennis shoe in town as far as I am concerned.

The Barricades run small,so you must order a full size larger than what you normall wear. I normally wear size ten,ordered size 10.5 The left foot felt good but the right foot felt a little too tight,causing minor discomfort.I thought break in required. I wore them inside the home for a week,even a plyometrics workout.Still that right foot felt tight.I then ordered size 11.0 the fit and comfort has been excellent. This review is after I have played in the barricades 5 times.I would say they broke in after my first time playing in them.Very happy with purchase.Excellent build quality and very comfortable product at a lowered price. This is a great shoe which may look big and heavy but it has the right weight and its very comfortable. The first time I used the shoes I found them hard and inflexible but after 5-10 minutes I got used to the shoes and managed to move better on the court.

If your foot is narrow these are great !

I bought the Barricade 6.0 as I was told the Barricade Team shoes I have used for the past 1 1/2 years did not give the proper foot support that a person of my size 60 190lbs and the number of times I play per week 4-8 times needed. All Adidas shoes I have bouhgt in the past 5 years tend to be stiff in the beginning and this was the case for the Barricade 6.0 but, this shoe seems more narrow than other Barricade products I have had in the past. My club pro told me to be careful with this shoe as, many of his students have had problems rolling their ankle with this shoe. The bottom of the shoe also feels somewhat uneven I hope that after a little longer break in period, that uneven feeling goes away. I do love the look of the shoe !!!!

Durable Shoe

My son plays tennis about 4-6 hours a day. The Adidas 6.0 seem to last longer than others. He also has a narrow foot and Adidas fit good. The only negative is the shoes strings, they are too long and break. I always have to buy new shoe strings.

Avoid this shoe unless you have high arches

I wore these shoes around the house for about an hour hoping that eventually I would grow used to the extreme arche support. Sadly, I never did. Accordingly, they never saw the court and I sent them back. I have extensively worn Nike, Reebok, Asics and New Balance for various sports for my average arches, neutral pronation, and just slightly wide feet. These are easily the most uncomfortable shoes I have ever put on, including tuxedo rental shoes. I returned this pair of Adidas for the New Balance 1187s, which are wonderful all around.

The fit is impeccable, the stability as you move about the court is simply wonderful. They are the best shoe Adidas has ever made. As I said, you owe it to yourself to try them. These are by far the best shoes that Adidas makes. I only like to wear men's shoes as I find that the women's version are too narrow, and these are perfect. Perfect stability, nice support, lightweight with minimal break-in time. It took a day on court to break-in. The only drawback is that I wish these shoes breathed a bit better, but other than that, they're great!
