A popular hybrid combination, Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour + Xcel combines the durability and spin of the stiffer co-polyester string with the enhanced feel and comfort from the much softer multifilament string. Typically used in the main strings for its durability characteristics, Pro Hurricane Tour features an octagonal profile, allowing for greater spin generation. The Xcel is often used in the crosses to increase the feel of the stringbed and decrease the overall stiffness. This makes an otherwise stiff string like Pro Hurricane Tour accessible to a broader range of players. The hybrid combination is best suited to advanced players seeking durability and spin, but with a softer feel. The thinner diameter of the polyester string in this hybrid allows for greater spin potential with slightly reduced durability.

Power control and spin all in one!

I purchased this along with my Babolat Aero Pro Drive GT and I love having the best of both worlds that this hybrid strings offer. It is my very first set of hybrid strings honestly, and Im glad I got a set that didnt give me a bad impression of all the rest. I find a very generous amount of power and control with these strings. But the spin, gosh, my opponents told me my topspin has improved to where the ball would curve toward them then bounce really high catching them off guard. Its a must-try for anyone.

Use the PHT 17 + Xcel 16 in a wider beam racket. Best combo Ive found for being able to hit hard and still get enough spin to keep the ball in. Use of string savers helps the set last longer.

I picked these strings to compliment my new Babolat AeroPro Drive GT. They are awesome strings! Great feel and even better TOPSPIN. The ball really bites onto the string for good control and even better spin. I had it strung at 58lbs.

great combo

this is a very good hybrid if you are looking for a bit of everything. i play a pure drive standard the older model. i suggest stringing the xcel down a bit 52-56lbs otherwise the hurricane will saw through them in no time. ive used this combo for months now. definitely worth a try.
