Babolat may be most well known for their Aero Line and “Pure” lines, but don’t count out their Drive Z, E-Sense, and C-Drive frames. If finding a lighter weight, oversize, or transitional racquet is your goal, you’ll want to read on! The Drive Z series is the lightweight line from Babolat. Weighing in from 9 to 9 ½ ounces, the Drive Z frames provide excellent maneuverability and spin potential in 3 different head sizes. Babolat’s unique Side Woofer system combines with Cortex, Elliptical Geometry and Woofer grommets to provide comfortable, controlled power and spin in an ultra-lightweight design. Pure Drive players looking for a lighter alternative would be well advised to demo the Drive Z Lite, while those looking for a little larger hitting area should try the Overdrive 105. Oversize players have the Overdrive 110 for large head frame power and stability. |

The E-Sense line from Babolat is a great “transition” series for juniors just making the move to an adult-size frame. Light weight with a softer flex, E-Sense racquets will let juniors hit out with control, and eliminate a lot of the harshness and injury potential of a stiffer frame. Woofer grommets add power and forgiveness to your shots, and kids will love the poppin’ paint jobs! Tennis Express offers the E-Sense Comp and more maneuverable E-Sense Lite frames from Babolat. |

The C-Drive series is another good “transition” line, but with higher flexes for stronger swings. Larger head sizes offer more forgiveness on off-center hits, and the Side Cortex technology combines with Babolat’s Woofer grommets to provide power with vibration dampening. The C-Drive 102 and C-Drive 105 should be on the demo list of any player wanting Babolat power and performance with lighter weight. Check out the Tennis Express demo program to try one of these racquets today! |
