This year I made a new year’s resolution that I would add more color to my tennis wardrobe and stop stuffing my closet with neutrals. As is customary with resolutions, I broke it within a week. Knowing I can’t break a promise, one of my friends had me promise her that I’d veer clear of my usual go-tos. But everything colorful seemed too trendy for my taste. Until I saw the Martina Hingis collection from Tonic, that is. As the story goes, when Hingis first wore apparel from the Canadian company Tonic during an exhibition match at Wimbledon she was so impressed with the comfort and quality that she actually approached them about a line specifically for tennis.
