Offering extreme control for strong players, the Boris Becker DeltaCore Melbourne features some decent heft and the tighter 18x20 string pattern that big hitters enjoy. Featuring the unique DeltaCore material developed by the Fraunhofer Institute, which is a composite material utilizing carbon nanotubes arranged into a tightly packed delta shape. The advantage of this is that key areas of the DeltaCore Melbourne are reinforced for increased rigidity. The increased stiffness brings with it a number of advantages, the first and most noticeable being the overall torsional stability. Similar to how the DNX wings work in the Volkl racquets, the DeltaCore material is highly concentrated at the 3 and 9 positions of the frame to prevent the frame from twisting as the result of making contact off center. Also included is a handle vibration dampening system which has a core that travels from the softer rubber buttcap all the way through the handle. A gel material inside the handle increases overall comfort and feel by dampening high amplitude waves mitigating shock, while allowing weaker waves through for the feedback and sense and feel that advanced players prefer. Recommended for advanced players, this frame is at home in the hands of an attacking all court player, with plenty of stability and control for hard swinging baseliners as well.
