Fred Perry TennisView Other Brands »
Fred Perry, the iconic British brand, is more than just an apparel company; it is a symbol of fashion and sophistication, it is a style associated with some of the most iconic looks of all time, and it is a legacy of one of the greatest tennis players ever to grace the court. Frederick John Perry, the brand’s namesake, was the first player in history to achieve a career Grand Slam, and is a member of the International tennis Hall of Fame. After his outstanding career as a player, he was approached by an Austrian soccer player with whom he collaborated to make the first sweatband. From there, the Fred Perry brand was born, and began producing a polo shirt made from white knitted cotton pique.
Since then, the Fred Perry shirt has been a staple of fashion movements, and has been as closely associated with the music world as it has been with the tennis world. The devotion the sport lives on in the classic design of the brand’s main line of shirt as well as the laurel wreath logo on the chest, which is homage to the original symbol for Wimbledon. Though the classic shirt remains a part of the company, Fred Perry has also expanded to include a wide array of tennis apparel, including dresses and skirts for women and shorts for men.
