K-Swiss Tennis
K-Swiss originated in California where they introduced the first leather tennis shoes. K-Swiss is not only popular for their style, but also for their comfort. This brand has been one of the top leaders in the athletic industry.Founded in 1966 by two Swiss brothers, Art and Ernest Brunner, K-Swiss is one of the fastest-growing athletic shoe companies in the footwear industry. Unlike its competitors, which include the retail giants Nike and Reebok, K-Swiss' success is due to the company’s reliance on a single unique design throughout most of their footwear. The famous “Classic” style tennis shoe made by K-Swiss first debuted at Wimbledon in 1966, and since then has been a trusted brand. K-Swiss appeals directly to upscale consumers and for the first twenty years of life didn’t even advertise at all. Instead, they relied on word of mouth and buzz to gain reputation. In recent years however, K-Swiss has changed its focus from the production of tennis shoes to athletic footwear and apparel and have expanded their target market. K-Swiss has about 3,000 retail accounts nationwide, as well as a large consumer base in Japan and Europe.
In 1998 K-Swiss launched a $17 million advertising campaign called 'Club K-Swiss.' In this campaign, the company used professional athletes as spokespersons for the company and made commercials that seemed hip and flashy to appeal to a whole new generation of consumers. The revamping of the company's persona succeeded and the younger athletes started to want K-Swiss products because they were “cool”. They continue to sport flashy designs while keeping comfort and flexibility at the core of their products.
K-Swiss offers a top of the line tennis shoe in the Bigshot, which features advanced shoe technology to give every player better flexibility, breathability, and overall comfort on the court. Players such as Gael Monfils and the Bryan brothers choose to sport this shoe with confidence as there is a 6 month outsole guarantee. K-Swiss’ standards for apparel certainly do not diminish as they look to offer some of the most comfortable tennis clothing on the market. K-Swiss offers some of the most stylish designs in apparel without sacrificing comfort as built in mesh pads are strategically located on all apparel to help breathability. If you’re looking for style and comfort, K-Swiss shoes and apparel are just what you need!
