Viktor Troicki began playing tennis at age five with fellow countryman Nenad Trifunovic as his coach. He is nicknamed Vik and speaks Serbian and English. He is inspired by Andre Agassi who was his childhood idol. His parents are Aleksandar, a lawyer and Mila, an economist. He lived and practiced in Boca Raton, Florida from ages 13-15. His favorite shot is the serve and considers hard courts his favorite surface. He is coached by Jan de Witt (since 2005), who works with fellow pro Marco Chiudinelli.
