The Dunlop Synthetic Gut combines excellent playability, feel and control with longer string life than conventional multifilament strings. A bit of comfort is compromised for a higher end durability rating without sacrificing much feel. The string is composed of a monofilliment core with a synthetic fiber weave in the outer coating to induce less susceptibility to weather and climate conditions, in turn providing a better string tension retention factor to sustain a more consisten feel over prolonged periods of time. This combats against the natural loss in tension experienced through not only repetitive hard ball impacts when hitting, but also from the stretching and contracting string beds due to temperature variations outside of the normal range for strings.
