The Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Plus is one of the new Biomimetic models for 2011 replacing the current crop of Dunlop 4D / Aerogel models. The racquet is constructed with 100% premium Aerogel enhanced graphite and features Dunlop’s new Biomimetic technologies: Aeroskin to reduce aerodynamic drag making the racquet faster through the air, HM6 Carbon to enhance the racquet feel, and the Gecko-Tac grip for ultimate control in all conditions. The Biomimetic 200 Plus will be Nikolay Davydenko’s racquet of choice.

I found excellent control on all my shots from the baseline. The 200 Plus has a more “elongated” head shape than the previous 200 4D or other Aerogel models. With the 100 sq in head size I noticed a very large and long sweet spot. I felt it had good control but for the most part from the baseline I had to generate the “pop” for myself. Players with long fast swings will find a very comfortable and firm response. On off center hits the larger 100 sq in head size and HM6 carbon technology helped keep stability and comfort. I had no problems generating spin on both backhands and forehands and in fact I found that my slice backhands had even more pop and bite than normal. Very solid from the back and mid court; baseliners will love this frame. Volleys
This racquet was very solid from the net. The larger head size helps a great deal with maneuverability and it provides a very solid response. I had excellent control on all types of touch shots and had no problems with generating power or going for put away volleys. I had almost no twisting in the grip and the frame feels great in your hands. Mobility is very good and I had no problems on reflex volleys on either side. The new head Serves
Excellent control on my serves was most noticeable. I was able to generate good spin on slice and kick serves and the response was very comfortable. The frame does have a bit of pop but for real power I had to swing very hard. I didn’t lose any control or feel when I went for big serves. This racquet was very solid and serving was a pleasure with lots of control. Overall
The Biomimetic 200 Plus would be a perfect fit for today’s aggressive all-court player or strong baseliners offering outstanding control with the added power of a larger 100sq. inch head. I found excellent control all around but the racquet was lacking in power at certain times. I had to generate my own power on those shots when I really wanted to “go for it”. This racquet would be perfect for any player who has long fast groundstrokes and is looking for a larger sweet spot without sacrificing control. I would recommend this racquet for any player at a 3.5 level or higher. Also, players should check out some of the new Biomimetic bags that would go great with this racquet! Dunlop has released a few in all sizes including 3 packs, 6 packs, and 10 packs to match your needs. Check out their neat backpacks and gym bags! |
