Dunlop Brings A Classic Into The Modern Age
Saturday, April 07, 2012
| It was December 2, 2011, when the 52-year-old John McEnroe stepped onto the court at Royal Albert Hall in London, England with a new Dunlop racquet in hands. Naturally, the appearance of the racquet gave it a few comparisons to the original Dunlop Max 200G. |

Everyone knows that Dunlop is one of the most successful sports brands in the history of tennis with more Grand Slam winners than any other, having spent more than 70 years in the market offering top of the line tennis equipment. The coolest and best players in the world play with Dunlop: John McEnroe, Steffi Graff, and Dunlop tennis legend Rod Laver all won multiple Grand Slam titles playing with Dunlop. For the year 2008 Dunlop introduces the latest additions to the Aerogel family: the Aerogel 100, Aerogel Titan, Aerogel Smoke, and Aerogel Rush (some pretty tight names!) |

After hearing about the unveiling of Dunlop Biomimetic today we are going to discuss the heaviest frame in the initial line, the Dunlop Biomimetic 200 Plus. The new Biomimetic line will be shown off at next year’s Australian Open by the Dunlop staff. The six initial racquets are set for a November 1, 2010 launch date. If anyone saw or read the press conference following Nikolay Davydenko’s second round beating from Richard Gasquet at the 2010 US Open, he stated that he was ready to “throw all my old racquets in the garbage” |

Now that everyone has had a chance to be introduced to the new Dunlop Biomimetic line, it’s time to talk about a few of the specific products. Today we are talking about the racquet that Jurgen Melzer is set to switch to for 2011. With a scheduled launch of November 1, 2010, the Dunlop players will be switching to their new frames by the Australian Open next year. Jurgen Melzer has been with Dunlop, playing the Aerogel 4D 300 Tour model. With the new line coming in he will have the easiest transition as his racquet of choice will be the Biomimetic 300 Tour. |
Dunlop Biomimetic 300

|
Since introducing the Dunlop Biomimetic line recently, today we are taking a closer look at probably the most anticipated release, the Dunlop Biomimetic 300. Scheduled to be shown off by the new faces of the Dunlop staff, the new line of Biomimetic racquets will be released on November 1, 2010. The initial release of this line will contain 6 racquets, as well as bags and other accessories. The excitement over this frame might have something to do with Dunlop’s biggest recent signing, Fernando Verdasco, being slated to play it in 2011. In 2010, Verdasco was with Tecnifibre at the Australian Open, tried a short stint with Yonex, and eventually signed with Dunlop. |
