HEAD Youtek IG Prestige Pro Tennis Racquet

Earlier this season, I demoed the Head Youtek Ig Prestige Pro and Mid. I decided the Mid was the better fit for me as I usually play points over games or sets. The Mid is a wonderful racket for feel and stability and control. It is super precise on serves, groundstrokes, and volleys. Of course, when my sons saw how well I was playing with that racket, they wanted it. So I went to the Prestige Pro. I win points more easily with this racket, I guess because I serve better with it over the Mid. I prefer groundstrokes with the Mid because that racket has fantastic feel. Both rackets give access to spin, but I have to watch what string I use. For these rackets, the Head Sonic Pro is great, but it has a short life--maybe 2 or 3 weeks of regular play. The Pro offers more power for me, but I still have control over my shots. I land the ball perhaps 2 feet longer with this racket on groundstrokes over the Mid, which usually gives me service line power. I trust this racket for serves and grounds

I have been playing with this racket for the last two weeks, and I think it helps me control my shots so much better than the Head Youtek IG Extreme Pro 2.0 or the Babolat Nadal racket. I can lose four or five games with those rackets, but with the Prestige Pro, I lose a game per set. Control and fewer errors will always help.

This racquet is a baseliners dream. Hits solid. Has a large sweet spot. One description that I read that I have found to be true is that it is accurate. The ball goes where you aim it. I am not sure why this is so true of this racquet, but I just know it goes where I aim it. While on the heavier side in total weight, this is off set by being 6 points head light, so it feels much lighter when playing. But has that solid feel against a hard hit shot. I used to play the Youtek Radical Pro. This is a very similar feel, but more comfortable. The leather grip is awful unless you use an overgrip. Strongly recommended.

this racquet probably has the best feel of all the racuqets out there right now. my ground strokes felt solid and i could control the ball really well. i could spin the ball fairly easily as well. i had to work a bit harder to get a good volley but good over all. serves were great. my flat serve was solid. it felt easier to put spin on my slice serve due to the open string pattern. the weight of the racquet put momentum my swing so i didnt have to force it. the monuverability of the racquet was fairly easy even with the added weight. it has a low power level due to the thin frame, so if you can generate your own power this is a great racquet for you! this is a great racquet. it has a solid feel and also has a great color!

From the moment I held the racket I knew that this frame was going to play great. As I do with my students I start my days off with 5 minutes of mini tennis. I normally don’t like heavier frames such as this one but the first thing I noticed was even with the extra heft the frame was still fairly maneuverable. The feel off of the groundstrokes were impressive. Access to spin is great, but when I really wanted to flatten my shot out I found it easy to transition. Serves felt amazing, especially on the second serve. With the open string pattern I did not have to use to much effort to hit my kick or slice serve. Volleys were solid all around as well. With the weight behind the racket, I felt like most of my volleys were super solid. I think this racket suits the modern strokes perfectly. If you have a real aggressive windshield wiper forehand, or a long backswing with an extended follow-through I would recommend this racket for either style stroke. If you are a mid to upper

After playing with it for some time now, i can say it is one of the most solid rackets on the market now. It has a lot of power, if you can swing fast. However, it is punishing on off-center shots, especially when you are tired and dont get your foot work right. A great fit for 4.0 and above.
