HEAD Youtek Seven Star Tennis Racquet

The newest addition to the Star series, the Head YouTek Seven Star can be looked upon as the ruler of the family. Featuring all five of the technologies integrated into the family, it is listed as an S6 power level, making it the most control oriented 115 sq. in. headsize frame in the Star line. The YouTek technology focuses on the d3O smart material, which is designed to adapt to the situation. In effect, it stiffens for greater stability and control on faster swings, while remaining more flexible on slower swings for enhanced feel on touch shots. The YouTek Seven Star uses both the Inner and Outer Quadface technologies which increases the effective length of the strings near the edges of the frame. This helps to increase the sweetspot size for greater comfort and forgiveness as well as enhance power. Unlike the other 115 sq. in. models, this frame uses the 4 Piece Control Ring, which is an added piece on the inside of the frame that reduces stringbed deformation towards the outside of the sweetspot. By decreasing the amount of overall stringbed movement, a greater level of control is achieved than what would be expected from a larger headsize. It should also be noted that this racquet comes with the Head MultiZone grip, which is a smooth feeling, sweat absorbing grip designed for comfort and control. We found this racquet to be quite stable from the baseline and provide excellent power. The sweetspot felt large and comfortable without the trampoline effect that tend to plague very large headsizes.
