Head Youtek Speed MP 18 x20 Racquet Review

100 square inches, 11.1 ounces unstrung, 18 x 20 string pattern
The 18 x 20 YouTek Speed MP is a sugar sweet blend of feel and control. The open pattern and newly-patented ‘d30′ technology make this a surprisingly responsive frame. The YouTek Speed MP has the look and feel of a true player’s frame, with its greater emphasis on control over power. It doesn’t disappoint in that regard at all.
This racquet though, really shnes in areas where many others don’t. Off-center hitting, half-volleys, reflex volleys, shots on the rise….were much much better than usual Head has really pumped up the d30 technology as a real game-improver on balls that need a bit more forgiveness.
Head has marketed the graphite/d30 materials mix as making its frames more flexible on balls you have more time to set up for and can really clock, while at the same time making it more firm on balls when there’s less time to load up. I found that claim. much like many of my shots with this stick, dead on.
I really loved the weight of this racquet (11.1 ounces unstrung). The name of the racquet is pretty appropriate as well. The YouTek Speed MP is just light enough to tear through the strike zone with plenty of speed, but just heavy enough to keep you from being too out in front.
Recommended for intermediate-advanced and players with longer backswings.
