PRINCE EXO3 GRAPHITE 100 PRINCE EXO3 GRAPHITE 100 199 square inches, 11.1 ounces unstrung, 16 x 18 string pattern Like its little brother (the 93 sq. inch version), the Prince EX03 Graphite 100 is a no-nonsense control frame for the advanced-level player. The additional hitting mass on the EX03 makes it more of a mid-plus than a true oversize. Nonetheless, it plays and hits like a true oversized big boy.

 

 

Most of the stock specs on this frame were pretty similar to the 93 (the 16 x 18 open string pattern, 19 mm beam), and that’s a good thing, because little brother is a fine racquet. The stabilizing crossbar is such a great feature to this racquet, and really boosts the stiffness factor at throat level. It’s certainly an appealing feature to power hitters looking for more control. It also makes you wonder why more racquet makers have gone away or don’t take advantage of this design.

 

The more generous hitting area on the EXO3 Graphite 100 also makes this racquet a tad more powerful, which was beneficial as the 93 was a tad bit lacking unless you were dead center on every ball. I was quite fond of the 93’s control on service returns, but I have to say, the 100 really blew me (and my opponent) away. My returns were out of sight (both in power and the spot-on control!). I had a hard time putting this racquet back in the bag as I was having so much fun with return games.

 

Groundies take a healthy swing for depth, make no mistake. There’s not much aid in plough through with either the 93 or 100. Regardless, shots are always true and predictable, and that’s a much better payback. I know this is supposed to be a ground-stroker’s frame above all, but I was in love with the results I was getting from the net and on serve with this stick. Volleys were forceful and lively as well..

 

All in all, the EX03 Graphite 100 is a supreme racquet. It’s more appropriate for all-court players who can generate their own power, rather than those looking for it from the frame.
