Light and Comfortable
User: Bill Zimmer, FL
I have always liked the way New Balance fit but this is my first pair of their tennis shoe. They are very comfortable and I was surprised how light they were. Ill definitely buy they again.
User: Alison Rutter, NY
Having tried on many, many tennis shoes over the years, I realize now that New Balance 1005 fit just right. I play a lot of club tennis indoors, on outdoor hard courts, and on hard-tru. This new pair of 1005 may be the best yet had the 1004 and 1003 before this for all of these surfaces. They feel light on my feet and very comfortable even with all of the stopping and starting and changing direction. I often end up wearing them for a good part of the day and notice that while a lot of my tennis friends need to take their shoes off to vent and rest, mine havent ever-heated. I also appreciate that they are plain white with a little navy blue and gray on them so they coordinate well and dont make me feel like I have Daisy Duck feet. I bought two pairs so I can alternate them, but I think Ill need to buy an extra pair -- I dont know if a new model would be able to top these!

Really great shoe.
super comfortable, good cushion
User: larry foste, nc
Possibly the most comfortable shoes Ive ever worn, covering 50 years of tennis. However, the shoes wore down in 3 months at the heels and portions of the sole. Having said that, Ill be ordering another pair shortly.

Great service. Great product. Very satisfied
User: robert rothstein, fl
These shoes are light, yet feel well-built and comfortable. Excellent traction when you need it. Have used them on both hard and soft surfaces with excellent results. They are easy to put on and take off as they open wide at the laces. When I first started wearing them I felt a bit of slipping at the heel, but this resolved by the third use.

I currently wear a new balance 1004 tennis shoe that i love but needs replacment. I recently purchased the 1005 model but had to return it due to being too narrow.
Mens 1005 White Tennis Shoes

I am very pleased with my purchase, excellent fit. I will make other purchases.
This is the last shoe brand you will buy.
User: Alan Carter, MS
I have played adult tennis regularly for over 35 years. Recently at a seniors tournament a good number of us were sitting around talking about all the varied shoes we wore as younger players. Some were bargains, some were copies of the stars. But, as we all agreed, we all played now with New Balance shoes, because they are comfortable and durable, but most importantly, we all avoid foot injuries ankle, tendons, soles because of these shoes. Ill never try another brand.

LIGHTEST AND BEST YET
User: Michael Solomon, CA
IVE BEEN WEARING THE NEW BALANCE 1000 SERIES FOR SEVERAL YEARS. I LIKED THEM BETTER THAN THE OTHER BRANDS IVE TRIED`;` AND BEING 87, YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT IVE TRIED MANY THE 2005 IS LIGHTER AND ROOMIER THAN ANY OF THE PREVIOUS NEW BALANCE SHOES IN THE SERIES. SINCE LIGHT WEIGHT IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT TO ME, ILL GET A SECOND PAIR UNLESS THE 2006 IS LIGHTER YET.
1005 D width New Balance
User: Dennis Yoken, New Mexico
I have previously been purchasing 1004 and liked the shoe, but this replacement is better for me since I use an orthotic which takes up more room. The 1005 is wider in the front but not any wider in the back, this works for me since I have a narrow back.
User: Ralph Sheaffer, MD
Been wearing New Balance for over 15 years. But also wore a diffferent highly known brand for a period of time because Sports Authority did not have in stock the size of the New Balance I needed. Big mistake, for I could barely wait until that other brand needed to be thrown in the waste basket with good ridance. So I was over joyed to return to wearing New Balance, also the brand that my orthorpedic physician highly recommended as best for cushioning the impact on my heel.
I like the 804 better
User: Gary Deel, OH
I decided to give the 1005s a try but I knew I did not like them nearly as good as the 804s as soon as I put them on. They were 1/2 sized larger than 804 and were not as comfortable. I sent them back for exchange to the 804s which I like very much. I now have 4 pairs of the 804s. Gary
Disappointed in Support
User: Tracy White, TX
I have worn the 1002-1004 for several years. I have thought the shoes had very good support and I liked that the shoes had some mesh for cooling. They have also had good wear resistance. I remove the insole to make room for an orthotic in my tennis shoes. The support in the 1005 does not seem to be as good as in previous models. It is not a bad shoe but it has made me think about trying something else.
User: Dennis Yoken, New Mexico
Previously I have purchased the 1004. It fit me fairly well and allowed for an orthotic, the only thing I noticed was that it was somewhat cramped in the toe area. I have a narrow foot and narrow heel so many shoes fit the toe area but not the heel. The 1004 fit the heel but was tight in the toe. The 1005 seems to fit perfectly in the heel area but allows for more area in the toe. Much more comfortable for movement on the court. I would highly recommend this shoe.
NEW BALANCE 1005 TENNIS SHOE
User: JERRY LISENBY, ILLINOIS
WHILE ON THE SHOW THE BIGGEST LOSER WE USED NEW BALANCE SHOES. I HAVE HAD NOTHING ELSE SINCE. THE 1005 FITS LIKE A GLOVE, I PLAY TENNIS FOUR TIMES A WEEK AND MY FEET FEEL GREAT BECAUSE THE SHOE DOES NOT BREAK DOWN AFTER ALL THE WEAR AND TEAR I PUT ON THEM. I STILL WEAR MY 1008 FROM THE SHOW AND I WAS ON SEASON FOUR. I LOVE THE WIDTH ON THE SHOE TOO. JERRY LISENBY WWW.JERRYLISENBY.COM
User: Jeffrey Hechter, AZ
I have been using New Balance for along time because of the wide selection. My 1004s wore out and I had to get new shoes and I got the 1005s. The are bit narrower then previous 1002-1004s that I have bought. Still a good shoe. If you have ordered D width before you might consider the DD width. Jeff Hechter
New Balance 1005 wide mens shoes
User: Muneyuki Nakano, Washington
New Balnace 1005 is light weight, yet solid sole construction keeps my feet comfortable and the traction is great. Also I like the position of shoe string holes, easier to tie and untie compare to the older model.
Foot Perfect Tennis Shoes...
