VOLKL Power Bridge 10 Mid Tennis Racquets

Id been playing with the Wilson K-Blade Tour for about 3 years now, and was looking for a racquet with better overall feel. I researched several racquets that included top of the line Wilson, Babolat, Head, Prince, and Dunlop brands. I looked up the specs and reviews of the ones used by the top pros as well. Nothing impressed me as much as the Volkl Power Bridge 10. The TW reviews rated this stick very highly, and it seemed to offer the feel I was looking for. Id played with the Volkl C10 Pro a few years back, and had liked that one as well. So I thought of giving this one a try. I got it strung with Wilson Natural Gut mains @ 55 and Luxilon ALU Power rough cross @ 52. The first impression of the racquet I had was that it seemed lighter and easier to swing than my K-Blade. This is my new racquet. I added 16 total strips of 4 inch by 1/4 inch led tape at 2 and 10 Oclock. I also added one over grip and 18g babolat pro hurricane at 60 pounds. New specs: 6.5 points head light/32.4 cm balance, 365.8g/12.90 ounces. You can produce semi-western forehands with blunt force trauma with this set up. The slice backhands are simply the best.

This racquet feels heavy to hold but is very manueverable due to the headlight design. This frame is unique among players racquets in that it is flexible and offers great ball feel. You will need to generate your own power, but with proper stroke mechanics it is easy to produce both pace and spin. This frame also excels at touch shots and volleys. If you are an intermediate to advanced player looking for comfortable, control oriented, high performance raquet, please consider trying the PB 10 Mid.

What a wonderful racquet. I was playing with a Wilson KBlade 98 but developed elbow problems. I had not played competitive tennis in over 30 years. I researched racquet specs that would help with tennis elbow. It took about 2 to 3 days to get used to the low flex number, but I am glad I did. Although this racquet is "flexible", it is very stiff with respect to torque flexing. In other words, it is very forgiving. It is very headlight, which makes it very maneuverable at the net. The open string pattern provides plenty of spin and power. The racquet has plenty of heft for very good plow through without feeling heavy. Do not let the lack of professionals playing with this racquet turn you off. It is so sweet. If you have “game”, take this racquet out for a spin.
