The Gamma X-2 stringing machine uses a drop weight tension mechanism, 2 point mounting system, and a plated steel bar turntable for easy and quick stringing. Best stringer for the price

The ratchet system on the drop weight should be the standard for every drop weight stringer. This stringer is sturdy, easy to use, and one of the best values out there. It has paid for itself in the first 2 months with 2 competitive players in the house. Be sure to wrap the handles on the clamp handles with tape or file down the sharp edges on the back of them.

A sturdy and well designed stringer. Probably the best for the price. Strung my 1st racquet yesterday. It worked great! The manual was OK..at best. However, it included a good USRSA stringing guide. YouTube also has some good videos that can help if you're a beginner. This intro level stringer does a great job for the weekend stringer!

Great for first-timer

This was my first machine, and I don't have experience with anything else, but it has worked well for me. I break strings about every 4-5 times I play and it was getting tedious and expensive to get my rackets restrung at the tennis shop. The machine is easy to use, the instructions are fine, it's well-made, and they provide a rack of tools, Most of which I haven't needed yet. For me, it's critical that it's portable b/c I don't have a garage or other space to do the stringing. I've strung poly and nylon, often in hybrid formation without any issues. The one problem with this machine, which I was aware of before I purcahsed it, is that the plastic clamps stink. They have already lost their grip some 6 months post-purchase, even though they're at the tightest setting. That notwithstanding, I'd recommend the machine for the first-timer.
