SIGNUM PRO Tornado 1.17 Tennis String

Player profile: 4.0 baseline player. Head Microgel Radical OS 18x19 pattern. Previously tried Tecnifibre X-one biphase 17g @58 lbs; Luxilon BB ALU Power Rough 16g @40lbs; Signum Pro Tornado 18g 1.17mm @44 lbs for the same level of power. The Tornado is relatively not easy for stringing work because it coils. It is a bit softer than Luxilon Power Rough. I would say Luxilon Power Rough and Signum Tornado are more spin-capable than Technifibre X-one biphase due to string bed pocketing for the same amount of power producing. The Signum Pro Tornado 18g 1.17mm holds the position as good as Luxilon Power Rough 16g but not to my satisfaction. I will switch to Signum Pro Tornado 17g 1.23mm next time which holds the string in positin the best. 17g version is as spin-friendly and has better tension stability. I dont test durabilty because I cut string off when the strings become dead failed to snap back to posiion.

This is a great string that provides lot of control and spin. Ive got it strung at 63lbs in my Dunlop tour 400 and couldnt be happier. I also have technifibre black code strung in the exact same same racquet with the same tension and they are nearly identical. I couldnt tell which string I was playing with and would go with either.

Ive tried several co-polys or polys, including MSV Focus Hex, SPPPP, and Technifibre Black Code, as the main string in a hybrid stringing arrangement and imo Tornado beats them all. It has great feel, good pocketing, and excellent durability. I wish it were a bit cheaper but even at $15 a pack it is still worth it.

The Tornado has very good bite of the ball, reasonable power, it is a little stiff however. I have strung it with natural gut in a hybrid combination. So far feels pretty good. I will check in later with durability comments.
