Tecnifibre X-Code 16 is the latest string offering designed as a more comfortable polyester string. Constructed entirely of the same polyester in other strings, this one is constructed in a multifilament construction utilizing many thin polyester fibers as compared to a single extruded fiber. X-Code 16 takes advantage of a new resin material, known as PU HD, which binds the fibers together but limits the elasticity for a firmer feel and excellent control. The classic Tecnifibre coating SPL, Silicium Pyrogene Lubritec, provides an anti-abrasion surface for increased durability due to lessening string to string burning. Featuring a similar construction to the new Duramix HD, X-Code features 100% polyester as compared to 50%. This means greater control with a stiffer feel and slightly less power. The string offers good spin potential thanks to its firmer feel, and the string responds well to a slight decrease in tension. A good choice both for a baseliner seeking a bit more comfort than a standard polyester, as well as an all court player seeking more durability while retaining some feel. The thing about Poly is that we use it because we want to be able to spin the cover off the ball like Rafa, or curve a forehand down the line passing shot back into the court like Murray. Problem is, we just cant put enough racquet head speed behind the ball to make the strings really work for us. This one gets me just a little bit closer. The feel of it is softer than something like Red Code or BB Power Alu. The ball almost sticks to it - thats what it feels like. Its a far cry from multifiliment, but does not leave my arm throbbing after a hitting session. This string defines ball pocketing for me. I strung a full bed of it in my Wilson K-Blade 98 at 48lbs and love it.

strung a full string bed at 48 pounds in a Wilson K Blade 98. Love the soft feel and control. Its almost like the ball sticks to the strings. I was just about to abandon the Blade for a more open string pattern, but this is - for me, anyway - a great combination.

I love this string!! It has great feel and does a wonderful job protecting my elbow. Once I had 2 racquets re-strung, the idea being to have them strung identically. One racquet felt dead. The stringer used a different string in one of them and it made such a huge difference! Mine is not a power game, but this string allows me to hit deeper shots. I will continue to use this string !

I usually use black code @ 55lbs. in my pure drive gt. I tried these strings at 56lbs. in my PDGT and they are wonderful. The strings do exactly what they say. They have a firm feel that is plush at the same time. The strings did bring some nice control to the PDGT. Unlike other polys, these strings do move a little bit, but that does not bother me. I feel the only down side to these strings is durability. These poly strings do fray. I have had them strung for about 7 days and they do not look like they are going to last too much longer. I am a string breaker, but if you do not break strings and want a soft poly try these out.
