Providing more spin than its thicker versions, Volkl Synthetic Gut 17 Gold provides a solid, crisp feel but is not quite as durable. The large central core gives a firm, comfortable feel and good repulsion while also maintaining tension for long longer lasting performance. Around the monofilament core of Synthetic Gut Gold is a duraguard layer which limits friction and wear between the core and the softer outerwrap material. This helps to increase the durability of the string, while the single outerwrap layer gives the string better ball pocketing for greater feel and a bit of extra pop. On court this string is an excellent performer from all areas of the court and reacts well to any situation.
