WILSON Pro Staff 95 BLX Tennis Racquet

Id be surprised if a better racquet for me is ever made. Love the control around the net and all around feel with every shot on the court.

Stiffer than what I am used to using but more solid backhand shots. Getting used to forehand feel. Serve more consistent but hard to get power on serve. Need to get stronger arm. Working on strength.

I enjoy this Racquet .Lighter weight but similar feel As the BLX tour 90.I appreciate the quicker response.Wish that a Fairway grip was installed but that is my only complaint.I am old school and like a thin beam players stick.

In the last 14 months Ive gone through four other racquets, searching for the magic: Babolat Aeropro Drive, Wilson BLX Blade, Wilson Pro Staff Six.One 100 BLX. Each had its own strengths and weakness. Then I tried this stick, and everything felt right. I put a leather grip on it and strung it with full poly MSV Focus Hex 1.18 at 53 lbs. Couldnt be happier. Plenty of power and comfort at the lower tension, plenty of spin with the open pattern, and control and maneuverability at the net outshines all the rest. My serves are no more speedy, but the accuracy is the best its ever been. On the scale it weighs 11.8 oz, with a dampener and over grip over leather. Plenty of weight for me!

Ive used Wilson now for over 25 years - my favourite being the Pro Staff 7.0 Lite Classic Steffi version. Ive replaced this with new Wilsons over many years, notably the NCode, the BLX Tour Limited Edition Henin and others. But, Ive returned to old faithful each time. This new racket may stay with me. At 47, Im seeking a racket that is more forgiving and body-friendly. As a forehand power player, Im finding the lack of ready power difficult at times - but this is outweighed by extra control and precision play when needed. In particular, for us old timers Ive played happily with this racket for hour long sessions, enjoyed the extra tools added to my repertoire and less stress on my arm/shoulder and back! Im persisting with it just now - and may add some weight to the handle to improve the power mass.

Ive been looking forward to switch to this racquet ever since it first came out. Traditional box frame, mid plus and all. Like many have said, this racquet is too light in every aspect as a players racquet. Ive added lead in 3, 9, and 12 Oclock positions, switch to leather grip like many have recommended trying to get more plow through and still found it to be less lethal than I hope it would be. Im giving it a last try tonight with a string and tension, hoping its not gonna be a disappointment.

Ive mostly played with Wilson racquets from my Jr tennis years to now age 47. Ive gone through phases where I didnt buy a new racquet for 6 or 7 yrs, but what Ive found is that technology is making racquets better and better. The BLX 95 is the perfect racquet for me and has raised my game about 25% just making the change. It has a soft feel, but I can generate plenty power when I need it. The lighter head has helped my volley and serve plus it doesnt hurt my elbow or shoulder. Its the total racquet!

As close as I could find to old trusty 85 ProStaff. Some nice crispness on off-center shots and easy on arm. Feel like I demoed all current rackets from Wilson and other brands. This one had the right feel and did not necessitate a change in my swing speed or length of stroke. Other newer, thicker beam rackets cant compare with the sensation of playing with this re-imagined classic.

This racket provides a comfortable amount of spin and control to however much power I use. It matches my playing style and comfort zone! AWESOME RACKET WILSON! :D

Most probably one of the best 3 racquets out there ... with the 90 and the 100. Requires an appropriate amount of intensity while playing.

The Wilson ProStaff 6.1 95 BLX sure feels as one candidate for the best racquet of 2012. Ive been using Wilson Pro-open N-code then BLX seriesfor 4 or so years now and shifted to the ProStaff 6.1 95 over the weekend and the transition is a relatively easy one than I expected as all specs are different between the 2 Wilsons except for the grip size and string pattern. This 6.1 95 seems suited for the all court game; I found it easier to hit offensive ground strokes, particularly on the backhand wing, volleys as well as half volleys are quick and options for length and angles are easy to find. Its quick on the return game and drop shots/lobs are easy to dial in. I would have rated it a 5 but am still looking for my serve. Maybe in another week.

I just demoed the racquet and it plays very similarly to my Presitge Microgel Mid. This racquet is solid from all parts of the court from serve to volleys. At the baseline it has both great control and power is accesible thanks to the open string pattern. Id try a hybrid stringing with it as my demo had NXT string it in. Id give this a demo its my favorite out of the ProStaff Six-Ones.

It looks like I may have a new racquet for this 2012 season. My main racquet right now is the Prestige Pro and when I grabbed this racquet I knew I had to give it a try. The racquet was a little to light stock so I added about 15g of lead at 3 and 9 and the whole dynamic of the racquet changed. I got plenty of plow with great control. Highly recommend this racquet for players looking for the old classic feel or a player who wants control without sacrificing too much power. Im definitely going to switch for the 2012 tennis season.
