Wilson Blade 93 Tennis Racquet Review

buy this racquet

Wilson has truly outdone itself with the evolution of the new 2013 Blade 93 from the BLX Blade Tour. This racquet provides maximum control and definitely beats the previous version in comfort, response, and feel. The Blade 93 is made not only with BLX engineering but also has the newly added Amplifeel handle technology to further dampen any harmful vibrations that may be transmitted through the handle to your hand and arm. Made for aggressive, hard-hitting players, the Blade 93 is a major weapon from all corners of the court.

Volleys &Serves

Without fail, the Blade 93 offers great control at the net. It was easy to punch back volleys with a solid feel and great precision. The control on this racquet made it effortless to put away sharp angled volleys and place them wherever I wanted. Even though it is a heavier racquet, the head light balance made it easy to maneuver to get a racquet on reach volleys. The Blade felt really great on my serve, and I thought that it helped generate some extra spin on my second serve. The head light balance, again, allows for fast racquet head acceleration so I could hit out on both my serve and overheads without worrying about losing any control or accuracy in placement.

Overall

The Blade 93 is an awesome upgrade from the previous model. With its stealthy looking, all-black frame, this racquet is perfect for universal control. Playing with the Blade was comfortable on my arm and provided great feel on my shots. I could hit out on my groundstrokes without loss of control, and volleys were solid, precise, and easy to maneuver. Serves may not have been excitingly powerful, but the accuracy I wanted was there. Overall, the Blade 93 is the ultimate control racquet for the offensive player who can generate his or her own power.
