Serena Williams

The heat of the triple digit temperatures felt at this year’s Oz Open is nothing compared to how Serena Williams looks in her new Nike ensemble. The sporty, yet feminine, royal purple outfit is suited for no one other than the “Queen of Tennis” herself. Let’s take a complete look at Serena’s bold 2013 Australian Open wardrobe.

The Grand Purple Nike Pleated Knit Tennis Dress features light purple and orange Nike Sphere mesh panels at the waist to add a contrasting pop of color. These mesh panels not only look cute, but they are engineered to enhance ventilation and keep Serena cool and dry in the Australian heat. The deep scoop neckline and pleated skirt creates a little flair with a feminine style that looks very flattering on Serena. The skirt also allows for greater freedom of movement on court.

Nike Air Cage

It was originally thought that Serena would be wearing the Pure Platinum and Atomic Purple Nike Air Max Cage Tennis Shoes that feature comfortable Max Air and durable Drag-On technologies. These shoes are high performing with their light weight, support, and impact protection. However, if you’ve been keeping up with the tournament, you may have noticed that she is wearing bright orange Nikes! These shoes are a special edition of Lunar Force 1 available only to Serena, which are a part of Nike's 2013 Black History Month Collection.

The purple NIke French Terry Tennis Hoody is a great, breathable layer for Serena to warm up in during the cooler nights out on the court. With soft Dri-Fit French Terry fabric and mesh insets at the back of the neck and armholes, this sporty purple jacket features grey color contrast panels along the shoulders for an athletic style.

You can match the hoody with the grey Nike French Terry Tennis Pant. These Dri-Fit pants are super soft and comfortable with a mesh back inset for breathability to increase your performance on court. They even have side pockets to store your personal items or tennis balls while playing on court!

Warmups
Blade 104

Serena’s new weapon of choice is the sleek looking, black and silver Wilson BLX Blade 104. This racquet is an upgrade from the Blade Team BLX and is a perfect mix of power and control. With both Amplifeel technology in the handle and BLX engineering, the Blade 104 is comfortable and forgiving on your arm and hand. This racquet is great for both baseliners and net players with its maneuverability and stability. And with Serena’s recent impressive performances, this racquet seems to live up to its reputation!
