YONEX EZONE Xi 98 Tennis Racquet

The envelope gets pushed even further with the introduction of the Yonex EZONE Xi 98 tennis racquet. Integrating power, control, feel, and comfort into one unit is never simple, but making proven innovations better is what evolution is all about. The EZONE Xi line stands for "Extra Isometric" which delivers an even more expanded sweet spot than the typical Yonex, offering increased forgiveness and power. The Quad Power System remains on the EZONE Xi 98 which takes advantage of variable thickness at the corners of the head for improved stiffness and repulsion. Also located at the corners is the NeoFade material, a dampening polymer that ensures less vibration for comfort. A completely new development, the SD (Shock Dampening) Grid is inserted into the handle and shaft of the frame between the tubes of the frame to limit shock from reaching the hand. Another evolutionary step was to create a new Oval Pressed Shaft (O.P.S) throat beam that introduces rounder corners for power while the wider face increases stability. The result of all this is a racquet that appeals to a wide range of players that want to maintain control but never turn down a bit of extra pace. Our testers found this racquet to play well from all around the court with an affinity for dictating from the back of the court.
