Now available in black, Dunlop Biomimetic S-Gut 17 serves up greater spin generation and feel at the expense of some durability in comparison to the 16 gauge version. This mono-core style string updates the classic synthetic gut with often requested improvements. Constructed utilizing a large monofilament core to provide a solid feel and tension maintenance. S-Gut also features smaller outer wraps to increase feel and soften the stringbed. The result is a comfortable basic synthetic gut string, perfect for players looking for a solid playing string without breaking the bank. Also makes a good string to use in a hybrid, such as to soften the stringbed when used with a polyester string.

Good strings for a blend

I use a 17 gauge polyester string as my mains and was looking for a nice inexpensive compliment for the crosses. I chose the Dunlop S-Gut Biometric 17 gauge and I am very happy with the performance.
I am the type of player who will break strings every 4 or so matches so I was a bit concerned that the description for the 17 gauge indicated serves up greater spin generation and feel at the expense of some durability but I have 4 matches in with these strings as my crosses and they still look and feel like new.
These stings really bite and will provide great topspin if that is your game. You will not be disappointed as they are a great product for the price.
