Description

For players seeking a more playable polyester based string at an economic price, Tourna Big Hitter Silver 17 provides greater spin and feel at the cost of some durability compared to the 16 gauge version.  This string is a great option for the baseliner seeking durability with some additional pop. One of the few strings to use aluminum fibers, the poly-poly ether composition of this string allows for surprising resiliency for extra power. Placing the primary concern on control, Big Hitter provides ample spin generation to allow baseliners to swing freely and still control the ball. The German engineered string also rated highly for its resistance to string movement as the strings move back into their original place quickly after impact. It is recommended to string Big Hitter between 5 and 10% lower than normal tension due to the stiffness as well as the above average tension maintenance.

Composition: Extruded Poly-Poly ether monofilament

Color: Silver

Gauge: 17G (1.25 mm)

Length: 40 ft (12.2 m)

I liked this string!
5/5
I strung this up in a hybrid with synthetic gut crosses and loved the power and absolute control that I was getting from this string. It might not give you the most spin because it is smooth, but it really lets you flatten your shots out every once in a while to go for a winner. Ive hit 2 of the hardest forehands in my life with this string because it has given me so much confidence! I think Ill buy a reel of it pretty soon because it is also pretty dang cheap for such a nice string

Great control string
4/5
I was really concerned about the feel of this string when I was stringing my racquet...very stiff with little or no elasticity. However, once I got on the court I really like the feel and control of this string...may be one of the best control string ever. You do have to supply your own power so may not be good for the 3.5 or lower player. But if you are having trouble keeping the ball in play, this may be for you. Terrific for serve and volley players.

Like it a lot!
5/5
I used this one as a main at 54 lb with Gosen micro 17 as a cross at 56 for my Wilson PS 6.1 95 racquet. I used to play with Lux Alu Power 16L and this string feels closer to it; enough power yet good control and decent spin. An excellent economical alternative to Alu string. It will be one of my favorite.
