Control does not have to mean heavy anymore thanks to the Volkl Organix 9, designed for versatility and all-around play. At 10.9 ounces unstrung, the weight is moderate while the 21mm beam width screams precision. The forgiving 98 square inch head size is complimented by a firmer flex to give the racquet some added pace to your shots. Whether you spend more of your time at the baseline or the net, the Organix 9 has you covered with its ultra-maneuverable frame and comfortable response. Organix material placed around the head of the frame offers increased stability for baseline play while complimenting the Bio Sensor handle system designed to reduce frame vibration for added comfort and arm safety. Our testers felt that while this is certainly skewed towards a control frame, it does provide power on demand, making it the most versatile of the current Volkl line.

works for me
5/5
I play at about a 5.0 level and am looking to move up. This racquet works for me and I have tried more racquets than most people. It is very stiff to have such a thin beam. This allows me to generate power and still hit with a lot of spin without hitting the frame. I havent figured out my exact custom weight yet but I am going to add between 12 and 16 grams of lead tape at 2 and 10 OClock and then add more lead just above the grip handle under the rubber band to bring the racquet back to its factory strung balance of about 5 points head light. I have it strung with babolat pro hurricane 18 gauge string, and two over grips. My strung weight will be somewhere between 12.4 and 12.8 ounces. Definitely worth a demo.

works for me update
5/5
Update from previous review. Moved the added lead tape from 2 and 10 OClock, to 3 and 9 OClock. Still counterbalanced with lead tape wrapped around the throat of the racquet just above the grip, and covered with the rubber band. Dialed in now.

The Wonderful Volkl
4/5
Volkls Organix 9 is a racquet without pretensions, though it certainly could put a few claims in. Perfectly balanced, it works at the net, at the baseline, on serve, for big points and deft ones. It just feels right, making you feel it is adapting to your game. Which of course it is not: much better, it is such a modestly well built stick that it brings out the best in your game. In this sense, it deserves plenty of credit, proving that solid craftmanship is far more meaningful than gadgets and gizmos alleged to give you the extra speed or power or whatever it is you must find in your own game. With cross strings at 56 or 57 and mains at 58 or 59, you should have a fine combination of power and control, but thats up to you. The Tennis Express folks are helpful as ever and can advise, and can be counted on to deliver your choices exactly as promised and as soon as possible.
