Description

This racquet requires two sets of strings due to the large headsize of the racquet.

A fresh face in the racquet industry, Asics has rolled out three innovative new frames. The Asics 125 is the same width as 115, 118, and 120 sq. in. racquets, but the elongated shape of the racquet head allows for lengthened main strings. This creates a fan pattern that greatly increases spin and power potential. At 8.9 ounces unstrung, this is a game-improvement frame that's sturdy, but easy to swing. In addition to propelling the ball with pace and spin, you'll also enjoy an extra .5" in length with this model. Because if its unique head shape, Asics recommends the main strings of the 125 be strung at the low end of the recommended tension. The cross strings should be strung 5 lbs. less than the mains.

Great new racket

Lots of power but still very controllable. Good balance and very maneuverable. Particularly good for serving but also very good for doubles. Fan shaped stringing gives

Great Racquet

The Asics 125 racquet is the best racquet I have ever used and I have played on and off for 35+ years. I looked for another racquet as my Babolot was causing me a lot of elbow pain which I read in other reviews. This racquet provides more power and control with no elbow pain.

Terrible Racquet

The racquet is to light. No balance. Not enough power for that type of frame. Control is very average. Big mistake!

125 Asics
5/5
The best racquet I have ever used. I bought this racquet because a thief broke into my care stole my first one. Yea, I bought the exact same racquet, because I really loved this racquet. It is light and highly controllable. I put a lot of spin on my balls, and BOY! does the ball spin. Many of my opposing players have a difficult time receiving my spinning balls. The greater square inch 125 comes largely by getting rid of the triangle near the grip. This means less errors to prevent ball hitting the rim near the handle with a ball getting stuck in the triangle. This also give you greater sweet spot. The tear-drop shape also give a lot of power. If another thief steals this one, I will have to go with my third one. I am not encouraging anyone, though.

Asics racquet 125
5/5
I am still getting used to my Asics raquet, but I have to say it was a very easy transition from my Prince racquet to Asics. I added just a little head weight to enhance my forehand and serve. For the backhand I have to make sure I turn my shoulder. My practice partner tells me I have more zip. Lobs are also good. I need a little more feel on drop shots. So overall--very good at this point. And no tennis elbow.

Oversize but manageable
4/5
Racquet has a surprisingly light swing weight and as quick and agile as a midsize. Requires striking ball in the exact sweet spot though if you want to generate power, and the sweet spot isnt as large as you might expect for a super-oversize racquet.
