It may look like a standard synthetic gut, but Ashaway Synthetic Gut 16g offers a softer feel and added durability compared to the typical solid core construction. Featuring similar construction techniques, Ashaway uses a more elastic material to offer additional comfort for players of all styles. An abrasion resistant coating on this synthetic gut resists notching in order to increase the durability. The result is a string that plays well from all areas of the court and combines the tension maintenance and durability of a solid core with a softer feel.

I use these strings as my crosses and they have good feel and soften my big bangers enough to help with control and feel. Good strings for a cheap price tag.

Talk about a great value! If you are looking, as I was, for an inexpensive synthetic gut that played as well as a higher end gut, this is close to it. I have been playing with this string on my Dunlop 300 and I have zero complaints. It delivers the response I expected pretty much on all shots, especially drop shots, slices and touch shots. While it may not stack up with more high end guts, it gets the job done, and done well. I intend to keep using this string on my racquets. I was skeptical at first, but after a week of playing with my restrung racket I was very, very pleased.
