Description

A different take on their Crossfire line, Ashaway Crossfire Monogut 18g String combines a resilient synthetic gut cross string with their more durable Monogut for the main strings. The co-polyester Monogut provides good durability with more playability than aramid strings while the synthetic gut helps to soften the string bed even more. The result is that Crossfire Monogut provides a more responsive string bed for hard hitters that want a softer feel without sacrificing durability. An improvement over traditional hybrids, Monogut holds its tension exceptionally well for longer-lasting playability. Our testers felt that Crossfire Monogut performed best in the hands of powerful baseline players that did not want to give up the feel necessary for occasional touch shots. The thin, 18-gauge diameter provides increased feel with slightly less durability.

Note: Ashaway recommends stringing Monogut 10-15% lower tension than the Synthetic Gut to account for different stiffness and tension retention properties.

Composition: Mains: 100% Braided Aramid | Crosses: Synthetic Gut

Color: Gold

Gauge: Mains: 18g  (1.10 mm) | Crosses: 16g (1.30 mm)

Length: Mains: 23 ft (7 m) | Crosses: 20 ft (6 m)
