Description

A popular hybrid combination, Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour + Xcel combines the durability and spin of the stiffer co-polyester string with the enhanced feel and comfort from the much softer multifilament string. Typically used in the main strings for its durability characteristics, Pro Hurricane Tour features an octagonal profile, allowing for greater spin generation. The Xcel is often used in the crosses to increase the feel of the stringbed and decrease the overall stiffness. This makes an otherwise stiff string like Pro Hurricane Tour accessible to a broader range of players. The hybrid combination is best suited to advanced players seeking durability and spin, but with a softer feel.

Construction: Extruded Co-Polyester / Multifilament Polyamide
Color: Yellow / Natural
Gauge: 1.30mm / 1.30mm

Good price, good feel, good power, good spin. These strings are exactly what you get for the price. Nothing phenomenal, but cheap and good.

The string job was good - tension as discussed - and performance is great.

Power and Touch
5/5
One of my Babolat Andy Roddick Pure Drive racquets has gut on it, the other has the hybrid combination Pro Hurricane Tour 16 and Xcel 16g Strings. My racquet is for power, it is weighted at 11.8 ounces. I got the gut for touch, especially around the net for doubles. However, the Pro Hurricane/Xcel combo surprises me. I feel like I dont give up much and on a good day can still hit soft touch volleys with accuracy. In fact, I rarely use my gut strung racquet anymore. I dont have to worry about the fray of the gut and babying itto avoid humidity or excessive heat on my gut strings, I have been known to carry it into lunch with me instead of leaving it in the car. When the gut wears out, I will restring with the Pro Hurricane/Xcel combo instead. With the hybrid combo, I have the power, spin, and all the touch I need. The price is nice too.

These strings are great and they tend to last a long time. I dont hit with very much topspin but I like the way that the strings dont move on my racket and that they tend to keep their tension for quite sometime.

When I first started hitting I noticed a dramatic drop in spin. Secondly after ten sessions the xcel strings broke. I have always used Babolat strings in the past and this wont keep me from doing so. I just wish however I had been warned to stay away from these.

I used Babolat RMP Blast before but I find that this string is much better for me as it allows me to have better control and some power.
