Their premier multifilament string, Babolat Xcel 16 is designed to offer players an ultra comfortable feel with added durability. Utilizing highly elastic polyamide fibers, this string offers greater elasticity and tension maintenance. Xcel features a polyurethane resin that increases comfort as well as durability by ensuring adhesion between individual fibers. The dual coating of polyurethane followed by polyamide provides a friction barrier, resisting string burning and notching to extend the life of the string. Xcel Blue 16G multifilament

This is a fair string to use in a hybrid setup with poly maine.g. 4G. I used it for several ranked national juniors 10-15 yrs old. It gets too expensive to use Babolat VS17 gut so I was looking for an alternative. We tried the black xcel as well as the x-one biphase 16. Blue xcel is a little softer than black xcel. Just for reference, black xcel last about 14 days of daily 4 hours play, blue xcel about 10 days and biphase about 16 days. biphase is probably closest to VS17 but there is nothing compare to VS17 out there. We tried out synthetic alternatives because VS17 impacted by weather a lot especially damp and high humility.
