Get Green With Envy on St. Patrick’s Day

I love the color green. Not only because it complements my skin tone so very well, but because it also symbolizes life to me. A picture of lush green leaves springing forth from a plant or tree to recover from its shedding during the fall season, signifies life to me. Needless to say, I’m a big fan of the color and would jump at any chance to wear it. As a matter of fact, I happen to be wearing green as I write this (I promise, I am.)

But I understand not everyone shares my sentiments. Some people need a reason to throw on something green. So with St. Patrick’s Day around the corner (March 17,) there isn’t a better time to rock your favorite green item with pride or add a few shades of this vibrant color to your wardrobe.

St. Patrick’s Day was originally an Irish holiday, but I’ve found that lots of people enjoy participating in this annual celebration. Many make it a family tradition to step out collectively in green, which is why I’ve put together a few green items that you and your family can rock in commemoration of the holiday.

WOMEN

Bolle Women’s Autograph Tennis Dress: I really love this dress, so much that I recommend you wear it off the court as well! It’s cute, it’s stylish and it doesn’t overpower you with green. I particularly like the solid green wrap around the waist and back, and down the middle of the bust. And it comes with a built-in bra as well.

FILA Women’s Collezione Cap Sleeve Tennis Top: If you’re not up for going for a bold  and bright look, then this top with its subtle shade of green is just the pick for you. It’s sleek, trendy and cute. It’s another piece of clothing I’d dare to rock beyond the tennis court.

Polo Ralph Lauren Women’s Elite Wicking Top Spin Skort: The Polo brand is known for its simple, yet classic looks and this skort is no different. Its lime green color shines more emphasis on the quality of its construction. Plus it’s got great moisture-wicking benefits too.

NIKE Featherlight Tennis Visor: You don’t have to be a tennis player or even an athlete to love rocking this cool hat. It’s lightweight and easy to adjust thanks to its one-handed closure. Plus it doesn’t put pressure on the forehead so you barely notice it’s there. But you will have enough shade to check out the competition without being noticed!

MEN

NIKE Men’s Roger Federer Hybrid Cap: Rocking this hat will undoubtedly evoke the feeling of a champion, like Roger Federer. You shouldn’t have to break your bank to get a nice hat of great quality, and this hat is proof.

New Balance Men’s Tournament Crew: A relaxed shirt you can throw on the go, this tee has supreme breathability qualities thanks to the addition of mesh inserts. Just throw on a pair of jeans or slacks and you’re good to go. Black stripes across its shoulders and back give it a contrast look that works well for colorblocking purposes.

Under Armour Men’s UA Raid Short: This short comes in a cool green with hints of black. It’s made with four-way stretch fabric and has plenty of room to move freely in. You get lots of benefits with this short, including UV protection, odor control, moisture transport for eliminating sweat, and HeatGear to keep you cool in the heat.

GIRLS

adidas Stella McCartney Barricade Dress: This miniature version of the Caroline Wozniacki dress is so cute and stylish that any girl who wears it will be the envy of her friends. It’s got just the right amount of opening behind to give room for full extension of arms. Its floral print is so on point with today’s trend that you’ll have a hard time convincing anyone that it’s a tennis dress and not a party outfit.

ELEVEN Girls Accelerate Skort: Like Venus Williams, you can show off your toned legs in this skirt with built-in shorts. Thick waistband guarantees the skirt will hold up securely to avoid any embarrassing mishaps. So go ahead, have fun dancing with its flirty ruffles.

NIKE Girls Power Tennis Tank: This fitted tank is all about girl power! It has mesh inserts for increased ventilation. It also offers UV protection from the sun’s damaging rays. The contrast of white on neck and around its midsection softens up this top perfectly.

BOYS

adidas Boys’ Adizero Tennis Tee: Can’t settle on just one shade of green? Try mixing it up like this tee, which uses three shades of green! Its soft and stretchy fabric is comfortable and high performance. Plus you get the best in Climalite technology, which keeps the skin dry and cool.

Under Armour Boys Zinger Short: It’s simple and ideal for pairing with other colors such as red, which is featured on the side piping of the short, as well as on the brand logo on the bottom right hem of short.

Nike Young Athletes Featherlight Adjustable Cap: You can go incognito while looking stylish in this cap, which includes mesh holes, increasing ventilation around the hat. Strap detaches easily with one hand.

SHOES

When it comes to shoes, most people focus on comfort and durability when making their choices. Well, what happens when you’ve checked off those two factors? Then it’s all about aesthetics and what cool colors to choose from. For St. Patrick’s Day, here are three of our favorites.

adidas Men’s CC Rally Comp Tennis Shoes: ClimaCool technology gives this tennis shoe exceptional ventilation and moisture management. Rocking an all-green shoe may not be the most attractive or appealing look, so mixing it up with grey is perfect.

Babolat Juniors Propule 4 Wimbledon Tennis Shoes: This multi-functional shoe features a cool green color that’ll stand out among a variety of colors. Young athletes would love this because it emphasizes speed and efficient footwork.
