Nike Tennis

Before there was the Swoosh, before there was Nike, there were two visionaries who pioneered a revolution in athletic gear that redefined the industry. Today, Nike continues to seek new and innovative ways to develop superior athletic products, and creative methods to communicate directly with our consumers. Nike is the largest athletic manufacturer and is respected by all countries.

Nike was originally founded as “Blue Ribbon Sports” in January of 1964 by University of Oregon track athlete Philip Knight and his coach Bill Bowerman. The company initially operated as a distributor for Japanese shoe maker Onitsuka Tiger (now ASICS), making most sales at track meets out of Knight's automobile. However; in 1967 BRS was able to open a retail store in California and continue to pick up steam. By 1971, BRS prepared to launch their own line of footwear which would illustrate the new logo of the Swoosh, created by Carolyn Davidson. The Swoosh was first used by Nike on June 18th, 1971 and since then has become the world’s most recognized logo. The word Nike was derived from the Greek goddess of victory.

Nike has been intertwined with tennis history with players like John McEnroe and Andre Agassi wearing the swoosh. Today's stars like Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, Jannik Sinner, Aryna Sabalenka, and Qinwen Zheng use a combination of Nike shoes and apparel to stay comfortable while performing on the world's biggest stages.

Within the tennis industry, Nike offers a wide variety of products including apparel, footwear, hats, bags, and accessories. When it comes to these products Nike is generally at the top of the list in quality and customer demand. Nike takes great pride in satisfying its customers and only puts out the very best products in every category.

The Air Zoom Vapor Pro is the most utilized shoe on both the ATP and WTA tours. It's Nike's flagship matchday shoe and is joined by a new variation in the Vapor 11, which promises to put you closer to the court surface than ever. And who can forget about the VaporCage Rafa, which is worn by you know who. Nike also pushes the envelope with their apparel for men and women. While it all started with Dri Fit technology, Nike has refined their tennis apparel lines to wick moisture away from the body, but also remain stylish. All of Nike's clothing technologies enhance a player’s overall comfort level and are designed to deal with sweat better than any other tennis apparel. Click here to see Nike's Sizing Chart.

With Nike's move to zero campaign they are  using recycled materials to innovate and lead the way in the tennis industry to reduce their carbon footprint. When it comes to playing with style and performing at your best, Nike is the way to go!
