Cori, also known as Coco, began playing tennis at 6 years old and moved to Delray Beach at an early age to train. She is no stranger to athletics since her father, Corey, played basketball at Georgia State University and mother, Candi, competed in track and field at Florida State University. At the age of 11, she was selected by Patrick Mouratoglou to partake in his Champ'Seed foundation and train with him in Nice, France. As a rising star in the junior tennis circuit, she became the youngest finalist in the girls' singles junior US Open and the youngest champion at the 2018 junior French Open. In 2019 she continued to rise, winning her first WTA main draw match at Miami Open, and then her first grand slam debut match against her idol Venus Williams at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships. Her favorite surface is hard court and her favorite players are Serena and Venus Williams.
