For the player seeking a soft, comfortable feel and a lot of power, the new Dunlop Biomimetic Silk 17 comes complete with a natural gut like feel. Slightly thinner than the 16 gauge version of the string, this one will provide a bit more power and spin, but will see reduced durability.  The entire Biomimetic line is designed by studying natural evolutionary designs and applying them to products for tennis. Silk is aptly named after one of the world's softest and strongest natural fibers, and does not disappoint. The Pure DuPont PA66 multifilament central core results in a generous sweetspot, and excellent power. Using small fibers bonded with thermo elastic PU resin makes this string feel extremely soft and comfortable. The closest synthetic to natural gut in the Dunlop line, this is a good string for the player looking for gut's comfort, but at a much reduced price tag. Featuring a bonded polymer outer coating to reduce friction between strings, the string will have enhanced durability as well as increased spin generation. Silk is a perfect string for players with arm discomfort, as well as anyone seeking a large sweetspot with power and feel.

Construction: Multifilament polyamide
Color: Black
Gauge: 1.25mm

Silk 17 G Tennis strings

I purchased these strings hoping to get a better feel, but needed some power also. I am very satisfied with the purchase, the strings did for me what I wanted to accomplish. I have always found the right strings for me is as important as the purchase of a racquet. I am an older club player and play with more slice and finesse, than power. The silk 17G gives me the touch and feel that I want, also increases power.

In an effort to find a string to alleviate the pain caused by playing tennis with my tennis elbow, I tried this string which was advertised as comfortable. It did cause less pain, but the ball slides off the stings. No feel or spin and too much power. Would have to string it tighter which would cause more pain. I replaced it after one hitting session.
