The Gamma Shockbuster II Tennis Dampeners is engineered with an improved no-leak Zorbicon gel to more effectively protect from a wider range of vibration. With a "worm" design, the Shockbuster II features a dual-tube design that contacts the critical main strings for increased dampening.

ON A TOUR BUS HEADED TO NEWKS, WE STOPPED AT TENNIS EXPRESS IN HOUSTON TEXAS. FIRST TIME VISITOR, AND PRESSED FOR TIME I DIDNT GET TO GO THROUGH THE MANY ITEMS IN THIS HUGE TENNIS STORE. HOWEVER, I KNEW I NEEDED A DAMPENER FOR MY RACQUET. WHEN I MADE THE PURCHASED I ASSUMED THERE WERE TWO ITEMS IN THE PACKAGE. ONCE I OPENED IT, I REALIZED IT WAS A DOUBLE STRAND. IT WORKS WELL {A BIT BETTER THAN THE SINGLE STRAND} AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE PURCHASE.

My husband and I both use these dampeners on all of our rackets. Since we use open string pattern 16x15, the regular dampener tend to come off easily but these kind hardly ever come off off our rackets. Plus they go all the way across so more mains are touching the dampener that creats more dampening effct. I highly recommend these.

This is basically the original but with two stuck together. I dont really hear or feel a difference, so Im not sure it is worth the additional cost over the original.

Prefer Shockbuster I

I prefer the original Shockbuster! These were harder to put on. That being said, I feel like BOTH iterations of the Shockbuster are worlds better than the circular-ish dampeners, and the II dampened a smidge more than the original. Also, I felt both raised the stringbed tension just a little bit the II doing so just a little bit more than the original.

My favorite dampener!

So far I have no complaints about the Shockbuster II. It does an excellent job of dampening the strings which I happen to like and I have had no issue with the dampeners coming undone its happened a few times, but Ive been using them for quite awhile.
Im also quite happy with Tennis Express as an online retailer catering to the sport. They are one of my go to places on the internet for tennis gear.
