Description

One of the more unique string constructions around, Head RIP Control 17 is a blatant advertisement for its best property, control while providing a bit of additional spin than the thicker gauge version. Utilizing a central core of standard nylon fibers, this string provides a surprisingly elastic response to go along with its incredible precision. The most unique feature of RIP Control is the application of an outer sheath of polyolefin ribbons made famous by IsoSpeed. These thin, flat ribbons are braided around the central core and provide plenty of control and texture for additional spin generation. With solid durability, these strings are a great option for baseline players seeking control and spin without moving to a very stiff string. The feel is crisp, while still providing enough feel for those trips towards the net.

Construction: Nylon Multifilament + Polyolefin Ribbons
Color: Copper/Natural
Gauge: 1.20mm

Rip Control improved my tennis
5/5
While searching for an elbow and wallet friendly string I tried 17 ga Rip Control. In addition to being very low in shock I found it gave me improved touch and timing in a Head Radical MP. I now use it in a Prince Ozone Pro Tour MP. Several stringing customers have said the 17 ga. is too mushy preferring 16 ga. Previously Id been hooked on Wilson NXT 17 ga.

head rip 17 ga.
5/5
I was looking for arm friendly poly for long time i think i may have found one. Rip is softer then the other poly on the market,it has a mute sound and feel to it with just the right amout of control and power.Stringing was pretty easy but the only con about these strings is tension lost, after about ten hours of play the tension just drops and the ball came off the strings pretty fast.I think i will try the 16 ga.at a higher tension but a great string and good price.

Best Multifilament for me.
5/5
This is the best multifilament for me. I started using this string 3 years ago after developing a rather nasty case of tennis elbow. I started with the 16g version, but for me the 17g has a crisper fell and more action on the ball. The 16g version is difficult to break, but for me the 17g lasts long enough thats why you carry a spare racket. Its not the softest multifilament, but according to sites like tennismenace, its softer tham many multifilament strings, and certainly softer then any poly string. I occasionally try other srings, even gut, but this string fulfills my personal needs on the tennis court. Its fairly cheap, so give it a try.

Ive used this string for years and, while I periodically try other strings, I keep coming back to my old friend. I have a heavy topspin game, but love the control this string gives me at the net. The durability is obviously better w/ the 16guage, but the 17guage holds up pretty well too.
