ASICS' FluidAxis™ system is meant to imitate the natural movement of "running barefoot across a desert". This analogy illustrates that the irregular-shaped grooves in the outsole are designed to promote a comfortable and intuitive motion with each step. The first groove is more vertical than the second, and helps to seamlessly transition the shoe's path along that of your joints. The nearly horizontal groove adds greater stabilization.
