Shoe of the Week- adidas Barricade 6.0 Dragon Edition

If you’re in need of a tennis shoe that will last on the court, and keep you in style off the court, I’ve found it. This week we’ll focus on the visually attractive adidas Barricade 6.0 Dragon Edition Tennis Shoes. Highly known for durability and reliability, adidas created a Barricade second to none. This late-year edition brings in the Shanghai spirit for all of us to see.

Let’s begin with what makes this shoe worth having out on court in the heat of battle. The traditional Barricade claws are lined on the side of the shoes to prevent the forefront from sliding outward when moving around the court. The forefront also contains adiPrene+, which not only softens the impact, but also provides a dynamic respond, allowing for greater propulsion and quicker movement. In the heel, the traditional adiPrene insert is in place to provide exceptional comfort and shock absorption. This shoe is most well-known for the super durability on the outsole. Being one of the most durable shoes on the market, the adiwear 6 material is in high wear areas such as the toe and medial side of the foot. To add versatility to its many qualities, adidas steps up the performance either further with the Torsion System, a light weight arch support that allows the forefoot and rearfoot to move and flex independently of each other, allowing for greater surface adaptation.

Those are the features and technologies embedded in the shoe, but are the shoes good for the everyday player? I vote yes. With the material that is used to make the shoe so durable, you would expect a little stiffer feel. Although it is stiffer than some, the comfortable feel is almost surprising. Mesh vents and extensive upper perforations keep your feet cool during those hot days on court. Along with being a comfortable fit, it has a sleek, new design that can’t be overlooked. World no. 4 player Andy Murray will be showcasing these shoes at the Masters tournament in Shanghai as well as the tournament in Bejing. A neo iron metallic, black, and red color scheme only adds to the great look of the shoe with a dragon symbol on the back.
