The Serbian-born pro took the tennis world by storm in 2010, shocking American favorite Andy Roddick in the second round of the US Open, and then winning the clinching point that propelled his native country into the finals of the Davis Cup for the first time. He made his ATP debut in 2003 and finished in the Top 50 for the first time in 2008. After much success from 2011-2015, he suffered many different injuries preventing his play to be in the top ranks. In 2017 after the US Open, he took a long hiatus from the sport to establish his own Tennis Academy and undergo several surgeries. In 2019 he made his last comeback reaching the 4th round at the Bangkok Open, Quarterfinals of the US Men's Clay Court Championships, and Quarterfinals of the Stockholm Open. He official announced his retirement after the Stockholm Open and is now committed to Tennis Academy as well as coaching some pro tennis players on the side. He’s married to Serbian television host Biljana Sesevic and has been known to entertain fellow players with his “DJ Tipsy” house music. Interesting factoid: He has the quote “Beauty Will Save the World” tattooed on his arm.
