Karolina Pliskova began playing tennis at age 4 along with her identical twin sister, Kristyna. She and her twin sister were the first twins on tour to win a WTA Doubles title together in 2013 at the Palermo Ladies Open. Karolina won her maiden WTA Singles title in 2013 at the Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur and continued to rise after that winning the 2016 Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati and reaching the Women's Singles final at the US Open the same year. She reached No. 1 in the WTA rankings in 2017 and has finished in the top 10 rankings 5 times. Some of her hobbies include fishing, listening to music, watching movies, and reading books. In 2017 she started her endowment fund raising and giving money to various causes around the world. Her favorite food is pasta and in 2018 married her boyfriend Michal Hrdlicka.
